A Path of His Own is a portrait of David B. Milne (1882-1953), a unique, Canadian artist. The film features Les Carlson as David Milne and is based on Milne's journals, letters, and his unpublished autobiography.

Shot on location in Ontario and New York State, A Path of His Own traces Milne's life and work. With a career which spanned nearly fifty years, Milne's output was remarkable. Always probing, searching, and experimenting with new techniques, Milne reduced his art to the bare essentials of colour and line.

This beautifully photographed documentary-drama has been featured at many film festivals and in 1980 swept the Canadian Film & Television Awards, winning seven coveted awards including "Best Overall Production".
